Nantes at a glance
327,734 inhabitants · Loire-Atlantique (44) · Pays de la Loire
France's sixth city and home of PanneauxStationnement.fr, Nantes has over 320,000 residents. The centre (Bouffay, Graslin, Decré, Feydeau) is largely pedestrianised or a 30 km/h zone, the Hauts-Pavés, Chantenay, Zola, Saint-Donatien and Île de Nantes neighbourhoods are densely built, and the tramway and busways further limit places to stop. We have been installing signs here since day one.
The City of Nantes issues temporary parking permits for removals, works, deliveries and events. We put together the application, obtain the parking order (arrêté) and put up the regulatory signs outside your address, then remove them after your job.
What Nantes requires
- Department
- Nantes Métropole — public space use regulations (the Police municipale checks the signage)
- Procedure
- Online application via the Nantes Métropole eServices (removals); dedicated form for works.
- Deadline
- At least 14 days in advance.
- Fee
- Charged every day; the price depends on the street's regulations, the duration and the area (Nantes Métropole fee schedule).
- Signs
- Signs must be put up at least 48 hours before the start (Sundays and public holidays excluded); this is what allows an obstructing vehicle to be towed. A certificate of installation is sent to the Police municipale.
- On the day, the authorised vehicle's number plate is registered at the pay-and-display machine or via PayByPhone, day by day.
- The permit must be displayed behind the windscreen.
- In pedestrian streets, no signs are used: report to the entry bollard with the permit number.

How it works, step by step
- You send us the address, the dates and the vehicle size.
- We file the application with the town hall and follow it up until the permit is issued.
- Our sign installers place the official signs with the permit displayed, within the timeframe set by the municipality, and upload time-stamped photos to your account.
- After your job, we remove the signs.
Why time-stamped photos matter
In most French towns, a vehicle parked in your space can only be towed if the signs were in place before it arrived, within the timeframe set by the municipality. Our geolocated, time-stamped photos prove exactly when the signs were placed. The City of Rouen, for example, expressly recommends them.
Prices in Nantes
Sign placement and removal: €59 excl. VAT. Permit application: €2.50 excl. VAT in addition (€14.90 on its own). The town's own street-occupation fee, if any, is confirmed before you order.
